a few weeks ago, i send an email to the hennepin county attorney and assistant attorney asking them to drop the charges against cece mcdonald and they just sent me a response today. it’s not like i thought they were going to get my email and say, “oh yeah, he’s right,” and change their minds like that, but i hoped that recieving lots of thoughtful calls and emails from people who are concerned (outraged) about the horror she is being put through over a situation where she is clearly the victim, it couldn’t hurt.
they just emailed me back, though, and now i’m completely pissed.
the email said:
Dear Jackson,Thanks for writing to us. We appreciate your concern for the defendant. However, our job is to take the facts presented to us by the police investigators. We then determine if a crime has been committed that we can prove beyond a reasonable doubt. If so, we charge the suspect. We have made that decision in this case, and now it will be up to a jury to make the final determination.
Again, thanks for reaching out to our office. If you feel there is anything we can do to help in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
